Wholesale Foods is a family-owned and operated local food distributor to the hospitality industry throughout the top of the South Island.

As a proud locally owned and operated family business, Mediterranean Foods Wholesale Nelson has had an amazing journey over the past 20+ years. From a small shop on Halifax Street to currently servicing the Nelson, Tasman, and Marlborough hospitality industry our range of products has surpassed the purely Mediterranean vibe as we endeavour to be a more complete supply partner for all of our customers.

To serve our family for another 20+ years and our growing customer base we need a name that reflects our extensive range of products and better represents us as a more complete supply partner. As a result, and after much deliberation, we took the step to change our name to Wholesale Foods on the 1st of September 2022. Don't worry, it's business as usual with the same team, same friendly faces, and same exceptional service delivering quality products - we'll just have a new, fresh look to take us into the future.

Our origins as Mediterranean Foods enables us to import and supply customers with high quality, beautiful products from the Mediterranean; but as a local distributor, we also take pride in offering a select range of locally made and produced products.

Our attention to service has been recognised regionally with several Nelson Hospitality Awards for Outstanding Supplier and Supplier of the Year, which we are incredibly proud of. We believe that caring and building strong relationships help differentiate us from anyone else in the market; our core values are centred around ensuring products are in stock, deliveries are on time, and customers are always informed.

In 2022, we’ve started to supply the Marlborough region; we look forward to connecting with even more of the excellent hospitality businesses in this region as we service the top of the South.

As our family-tree above shows, we’re a real family business - Peter and Kathie’s children and their many connections have created our excellent and ever-growing team of staff and whānau who work across both Wholesale Foods & My Pantry. It’s a privilege to work together everyday, as we share our love of food and service with those in our region and beyond.
